Elizabeth Hendrickson knows how to find a good deal. "I'm a big vintage shopper," she confides. "The first place I head to is Sal's - which is The Salvation Army. I am a big Bloomingdale's girl, too. I go there to get my basics, like my jeans and shoes. There are other stores downtown that I like to pop into. There's a store called The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly that I like. It's East Village, funky kind of clothes."

Hendrickson does offer some fashion tips. "Don't be afraid to mix things up and try different patterns and fabrics with each other, because you might actually surprise yourself," she advises. "With the outfits here, you can see how often I change things around. You only need a few basics in your wardrobe. You don't have to have 20 different sweaters. You can have two to five sweaters and wear them with different outfits."

Just don't look for a lot of jewelry on Hendrickson. "I always lose it," she groans. "I'll put something down one place and go back and it's gone. My roommate has a lot of fun stuff and I borrow hers, but I end up losing it. So I don't wear jewelry a lot."

#1: "This was at Caroline's comedy club. I don't know who made the jacket but I found it at Century 21. Those round metal circles shake when you move, so it's fun when you go out dancing. I had a little boy's tank top and jeans on that day and wanted something to throw on to make the outfit pop. I buy tanks and T-shirts in packs for $10 at Target. Even boys' XL is like a woman's medium - that is how big they are. Anyone could go buy those. Those are my ripped Paper Denim jeans that I wear every day. Those are Maggie's shoes, which are so comfortable because the bottom of them are rubber. You can wear them all day and night."

#2: "This is my favorite! I decided to go with short and fun (for the 2003 Daytime Emmys). I wanted to wear something light, and polka dots were in. The dress was Emanuel Ungaro. The shoes were Christian Louboutin. When I was walking the red carpte, people thought that I had these big long cuffs on, and that's not what it was. That was a shawl and you could wear it all different ways. I wore it around my shoulders but it would always fall down so it was hanging on the bottom of my arms. [The red flower] came with the dress. Then I went for the red lips, really light makeup and the red bag."

#3: "This was my fist Emmy show. This was a Giorgio Sant'Angelo dress. I got it because of A) the color, and B) the fit. It's very hard for me to find dresses. I'm so tiny that whenever I buy something I usually have to have it altered, but this fit like a glove. As much as I loved it, it wasn' tthe most comfortable thing because everyone was stepping on it. The antique bag was my mother's. It was funny because I was voted worst-dressed and runner-up for best-dressed in SOAP OPERA WEEKLY. I love that. I think it's great I got both."

Look #4
#4: "This is probably closer to my everyday look. I wear that boy's blazer over anything and everything. I found that at Sal's (The Salvation Army). This top with the sparkles we already looked at [in No. 1]. I think I wore a black shirt underneath it that night, and then I have my Paper Denim jeans on and a little vintage bag. Those are BCBG pumps. That is one of mmy favorite big scarves. My mom got me that for Christmas and it's very comfortable. I wear it around my shoulders at work to keep warm."

Look #5
#5: "This is actually a skirt. I took a scarf and tied it around to give myself a waist. Usually I wear a black ribbon but I couldn't find it that night so I grabbed my polka-dot scarf. I went to a vintage store downtown where this lady took skirts and made them into dresses. It's an elastic waist. Obviously you can't do it with every skirt that you have, but it's a good trick. The shoes are the BCBG shoes I have in No. 4. I got them at Daffy's. I am a big Daffy's girl. I mostly go there for undergarments and shoes. I go to the little girl's section in Daffy's. The always have great stuff."

Look #6
#6: "I went crazy that night, didn't I? I was at the China Club for some auction. I had Diesel Jeans on with another boy's T-shirt. This is a vintage jacket with a vintage bag. The shoes are from Century 21. My roommate/best friend, MLE Hagen, is a hat designer and that's one of her hats. I wanted to wear a hat so I threw on a T-shirt, jeans and shoes, and then I went in my closet to find a jacket and forgot that I had this. It matched the hat perfectly."

Look #7
#7: "I wore this BCBG suit to the GLAAD awards. I wanted to wear a jacket with nothing underneath it. I went everywhere trying to find a white suit; this one has pinstripes. I will probably never wear white again...until my wedding day. I wore this jacket again and someone bumped into me and spilled my drink all down the front of the lapel. It's ruined. I still have it though. I'm trying to figure out how I can fix it. That was a tricky jacket, because I had to tape it down. It wasn't as comfortable as I expected because I was so afraid that it was going to pop open!"

Look #8
#8: "I look at this and think, 'Wow, I've changed so much.' This is such an old outfit. I don't think I own any of it anymore. I don't even know who makes those jeans. I don't recognize the shoes. The lace top is Free People, if my memory serves me correctly. I have a little black bra underneath it. We were serving drinks that night at Blondies (for charity) and I knew that I was going to be behind the bar. I'm a klutz - that's why I have black on and a pair of jeans that I don't wear all that often. This was one of the first events I ever went to."
