This interview is exclusive to Elizabeth Hendrickson Online, please don't reproduce elsewhere! Thanks!
What's the biggest compliment you've received since working on AMC?
I have received many positive compliments from friends and fans, but when I was asked to come back to AMC because of the overwhelming support from the fans it was by far the greatest compliment ever.
If you could play any other character on AMC for a day, who would it be and why?
I would love to play the role of Trey because he has the opportunity with work with almost every cast member on the show, plus I miss playing the con artist!
If you had to pick another profession what would you do?
I've always secretly wanted to be a rock star. Who hasn't??
How did you approach the role of Maggie differently than the role of Frankie? Which one is better or easier to play?
It was a different process approaching the role of Maggie due to the fact that the writers didn't even know what they were going to do with her. They gradually created Maggie so it was very hard for me because I had to make bold and strong character choices for myself as an actress and I knew they would be subject to change. I was also very worried that the fans were going to have a difficult time in accepting me as this new character.
Who do you most admire on AMC?
I most admire Finola Hughes. Aside from being an amazing actress she is intelligent, witty, warm and has the best wardrobe ever!!!! We talk about style all of the time together. That was our immediate bond together. I was very nervous around her when I first started working with her. Probably because I felt like I was more of a fan than a co- worker. She is absolutely timeless!
Where is your favorite vacation spot and why?
My favorite vacation spot is Fire Island (Ocean Beach). I haven't been there in a few years but I spent almost every summer there with my family growing up. I have so many special memories from those warm summers on the "the land of no".
Since the theatre is your true love, what are 3 of your favorite plays you've seen on Broadway?
My three favorite shows that I have seen on Broadway are Chicago, Aida and Proof.
As an actress, if you had an opportunity to work with any actor or actress in the business, who would it be and why?
I would love to work with Jim Carrey. My mother always says that if he does a movie that requires him to have a daughter I'm their girl. I don't think I would be able to keep a straight face though!!!
Who is the biggest goof off on the set?
Since Josh and Cameron left I'd have to say the biggest goof off on the set is Kelly Ripa. She should get a third job being a stand up comedian.
What's your favorite word? Least favorite?
Favorite word- Vicarious, Least favorite- cranny
What sound or noise do you love? Hate?
I love the sound of my mom's voice when I am down in the dumps. I hate the sound of any power tools that are used to replace tires and people eating with their mouth open.
The ads at SSW described Maggie in one word as a "tease". Do you believe that is an accurate description of your character? If so, why?
Great question! I was very surprised when I saw that Maggie was described as a "tease". But the character was so new I couldn't even think of a good word to describe her. The only time I ever saw Maggie as a tease was when Tim was in town. Where did Tim go anyway?
Have you ever gone on the different AMC websites to read comments that people say about your character? If so, how do you feel about them?
I occasionally check other web sites to read comments about what people think of my portrayal of Maggie. It can be difficult at times to read negative responses about my portrayal of Maggie. I respect other peoples opinions, however in order to remain sane and keep a positive outlook on my talent and career I must not take it to heart. The minute I lose my confidence is the minute I lose ability to be the best actress I can be.
What's it like working with Vincent Irizarry & Finola Hughes?
Working with Vincent and Finola is one of if not the best thing about working on AMC. If I hadn't returned I would never have had the opportunity to learn and absorb their brilliant talent.
Some people have great 'best day of my life' days, can you tell us about one of, or the best day you've had?
One of the best days of my life was when my agency Paradigm took me aboard. I had just left Syracuse University, which was a very hard couple of years for me. It was so great to feel that some one believed in me. They called me the day before my 20th birthday and I remember that phone call being the best birthday present ever.
Where do you see yourself in ten years?
In ten years I hope to see myself living with or possibly married to someone who will accept me for who I am despite my faults and my crazy life. I absolutely adore children so if I am in a good place in my life I hope to have kids. As for my career, my dream would be complete if I could star in a Broadway play. I also hope to be financially stable enough to buy my parents their dream house in France just to say thank you for everything they have given to me.
